Don't Be So Frugal!

Note to self....Change the blasted needle! If you were raised on the adage 'if it isn't broken, don't fix it' or in Peninsula lingo 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'.....you must be re-educated. I know it's painful. I've been there. Heck, I'm still there (ask Janis). But I have become a firm believer that when I die my kids are not going to appreciate all those part packages of sewing machine needle that I been hording.
I'm at my machine everyday! Sometimes I only have enough time to sit and talk to it and pat it and tell it I miss it....everyone does that, right? But usually I sew for several hours each day. My new resolve is to CHANGE THE BLASTED NEEDLE......OFTEN. Needles are cheap, compared to a sewing machine. My Baby Lock cries when life is too hard on it. And sings beautifully when the needle is sharp.
NEEDLES ARE CHEAP! CHANGE THE NEEDLE! NEEDLES ARE CHEAP!
I can do this. Throw old needles in the garbage so you are not tempted to reuse.....this is going to hurt.....

Wow! good hint Janis! I didnt know that you could sharpen needles by sitting on them! I'm going to look for a volunteer! :) Sby Shazam on 23 July 2008 at 1:11 a.m.

Hint: Put those old needles in a small jar or tin and when that is full, chuck the whole thing in the garbage. Or, you could save them for when someone has more time on their hands than blank (fill in appropriate word) and can sit and sharpen them.by Janis (who else?) on 20 July 2008 at 11:16 a.m.
