And then there was Oliver...

Back last summer Ted mentioned several times that we should get a kitten...you can't be sad with a kitten, 'cause they make you laugh! Our cats are at the geriatric stage....12 years old. They sleep. They eat. Then they sleep some more. Anyone who's been to the store will know that Patches sleeps...and begs for treats. Mr. Key, the black tom who sleeps in the couch at home, is also very low key.

Then there is Oliver. HeeHeeHee. A week ago Monday I visited the animal shelter in Owen Sound.

"Please, may I see your cats? No, No, I'm just looking. This little guy's pretty! Maybe tomorrow I'll come back with my cat carrier. Oh, I can borrow one? Really, Oliver wants to come home now?"

Amazing! These wonderful folks speak cat. Who knew? Meet Oliver....

Isn't he pretty? He's about six months old. He was in the house for about 37

seconds, when he landed in the dinning room window. Several plants and two vases

later, he got out of the window. Patches spent the first night at the top of the

stairs...spitting and hissing. I'm a light sleeper. Second night, Patches came to

bed and proceeded to hiss and spit from there, all night. Poor Oliver just

couldn't understand why these old cats will not play with him.

Peace at last. The older cats have had a staff meeting and decided the ignoring

the new guy is the best thing to do. Life is peaceful for now....funny, but peaceful.
