The Steak

Some of you may be surprised to find out that cooking is not my strong point. I'm strong on frying pan meals. My favourite these days is out of the freezer, and into the microwave. I like food, I just don't like the time involved to cook it.
Cameron sent home his George Foreman Grill. Nice. He explained that steak would be excellent....sure. The house filled up with smoke. My rare steak was well done. What does that tell you? I'm also easily distracted from the kitchen.
Tonight I thought the broiler might be the answer. Gas stove. The broiler is in the drawer on the floor. Do you know where I'm going with this? I have a new kitten. The first thing I do is turn the broiler on, open the draw, and break off the handle. Nice. I was happy to see that, yes, I had washed the broiler pan from the last time (two years ago). Of course every time I lay on the floor, to check the steak, I have a cat peering into the broiler. I pray that Oliver doesn't sneeze, or jump into the draw. Do we wonder why I don't like to cook? I must remember the pan. After burning my fingers trying to remove the meat, I find out that it's medium-well. No smoke. The microwaved veggies are wonderful. What can I say.
I've spent the evening working on the binding on my 'Girlfriend's' wall hanging. I can hang it on the newly painted from lobby...Guess what I've been doing this weekend?
