How about summer?

23 Oct 2009

Would it break your heart if I told you that summer sucks? Ok, maybe that's harsh. Not all summers suck, just this one. Apparently fall isn't much better. For those of you who missed me these past few months. I missed you too. For all who sent their best wishes and hugs during my husband's illness I thank you! Quilters are an amazing bunch! Your strength and encouragement will not be forgotten. I'm struggling into my 'big girl pants' (thanks Suzann) and stepping forward. It's not always pretty. But that's life...

Here we are. Fishing a bass tourny, six days later Ted died.

Isn't he cute? The man, not the fish...

The Day before.

Guild Show

This is me the day before the wedding day. I was a little concerned when someone asked me what I was wearing to the wedding....hadn't thought of that!  As it turned out, the 4th dive into the closest pulled forth something that fit ( and it wasn't this apron).

And then there was a wedding!

22 Jun 2009

Ok, so I've survived (barely) the last two weekends....woo!

Yes! The wedding.

Dawn's Wedding

And the bride wears paisley. The artist in Dawn, wouldn't allow for a traditional....anything. The weather co-operated and we had a lovely day. Congrats to Dawn and Neil!

Where has the time gone?

09 Jun 2009

OK. Have you missed me? Suddenly it's June and life is just streaming by. We've been to party with Mark Lipinski....anybody who's visited Quilts Unlimited's web site knows this.

Me and Mark Lapinski

This crazy, crazy, man is hillarious! We had a blast!

If you go to www.northcott.net you will see his Krakow fabric made into Turning Twenty Again....we came home and made the same quilt (the blue version, too).

I'm currently getting ready for the Guild show....and my daughter's wedding....same day. I'm just that good. Stay tuned for more.....I'm off.

The hearts have it!

31 Jan 2009

Ok, I've managed to find 'homes' for some of my many, many, heart blocks. Isn't that great? Thanks to About.com, I've made this great little crib quilt....that's 30 hearts accounted for.

Hearts crib quilt

Now, for the real excitement....my sampler. Thanks to Eleanor Burns and her Egg Money Quilts book, this UFO is finally finished. After it got past the 'ugly stage' (why does that always happen?) I really had fun!  Count the heart blocks...there's 40!  WOO HOO!  Ok, that leaves...do the math...80 blocks remaining to find a home for. Sampler hearts

Oh yes, there's pillow cases as well....I'm havin' fun! Can you tell?  And for anybody who cares...right now I'm ready to bribe Willie...happy Ground Hog Day......make the snow stop...please.
